UPDATE: New target launch date for the James Webb Space Telescope
Due to adverse weather conditions in Europe spaceport in French Guiana, the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope – initially planned for December 24 – have been reported. The new target launch date is December 25th.

LONGUEUIL, QC, December 21, 2021 / CNW / – On December 25th, the James Webb Space Telescope, the most powerful space telescope ever built, is expected to be launched from Europe spaceport in French Guiana. Media representatives can watch live coverage of the launch at NASA television from 6 a.m. ET. The launch is scheduled for 7:20 a.m. ET.
A clean feed of the launch without comment will be available via satellite. The uplink will start to 7:00 a.m.ET and continue for an hour after launch. Please contact [email protected] for satellite coordinates.
Webb is an international collaboration between NASA, the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). Canada is contribution of a scientific instrument and a guidance sensor at the massive observatory.
