A new person is in a leadership position at Salina Area United Way.
According to the organization, MacKenzie Morris is the new Director of Marketing and Grants.
In this role, Morris will work with two key elements of the organization: grants and marketing. These two pieces go together.
Morris will work to secure funds awarded to funded partners of Salina Area United Way. From there she will be
share their stories, so the Salina community knows where their money is going and why it’s so important to continue supporting Salina Area United Way, whether by donating
or by volunteering.
Morris was born and raised in Salina, Kansas. After earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Kansas State University, she moved to Overland Park, Kansas. While at Overland Park, she continued her career in marketing working as the marketing manager of a sports tech start-up that was originally founded in Salina.
Morris returned to her hometown of Salina in early 2021 to work as the Marketing Coordinator for the Greater Salina Community Foundation.
Morris has a six-year-old son, Liam, who keeps her busy and entertained, and their dog Frankie. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis at Genesis and spending time with her six nieces and nephews.
Morris is thrilled to continue working in the nonprofit world and to have the chance to have an immediate impact on the Salina community with the Salina Area United Way team and its mission.
“We are thrilled to add MacKenzie to our team at Salina Area United Way,” said Claire Ludes, General Manager. “MacKenzie has marketing expertise, which is what we need when it comes to sharing the stories of our funded partners and why it’s so important to help strengthen our community. She will help us continue to keep the community informed, so that they feel confident in the work we are doing.
