Media slams Gator’s sloppy and uneven victory over Seminoles

The Florida Gators got on with the business and beat Florida State 24-21 to finish the regular season 6-6 and became eligible for the bowl. Florida State made it interesting earlier in the contest, but too many mistakes cost them a chance to come home with a road victory over their rival. However, many media outlets have criticized the game as a whole due to the sloppy play and the ever-changing situation for the Florida quarterback.

On rivalry weekend, the Gators-Seminoles game is still circled and there was at least something at stake on Saturday. The one-game slugfest included punches and a pre-game brawl ended with the Gators at the top.

The game was all over the place, but the Gators came out on top, led by Emory Jones, Anthony Richardson and Dameon Pierce. Jones was pulled out after three first-half interceptions but landed a touchdown. Richardson was five of seven for 55 yards and a touchdown and Pierce ran for 62 yards and a score.

Although he reduced the lead to three, Florida State took advantage of an offensive kick, returning the ball to Florida to win the game.
