Barrera to serve on the American Advertising Federation District 10 Board of Directors

MCALLEN – Local advertising and communications professional AB Barrera has been named a member of the American Advertising Federation’s District 10 board of directors. As a member of the council’s executive committee, Barrera will serve as the district chairperson for conferences and conventions.

District 10 encompasses the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. The District 10 board of directors oversees 19 American Advertising Federation chapter clubs in these regions.

Barrera is CO-CEO of PMDG Marketing Communications, a full-service advertising agency and co-owner of AlphaGraphics Laredo, a full-service print center.

Barrera is an award-winning marketing and public relations professional. He has received numerous accolades, including the coveted MAXI Award (International Council of Shopping Centers) as well as several Addy Awards from the American Advertising Federation. Barrera is a Certified Business Etiquette Professional, certified by the Emily Post Institute and a Certified Marketing Director (CMD), a designation he received in 2003 by the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Barrera has spent over 20 years fixing marketing mistakes in the retail and shopping mall industries. His resume reads like a ‘who’s who’ list and includes marketing management positions with retail industry giants including General Growth Properties, Simon Property Group and CBL Properties, as well as affiliations with reputable marketing organizations including the International Council of Shopping Centers, the American Marketing Association. , and the Public Relations Society of America.

Barrera is active in national, regional and local business and industry organizations, including the American Advertising Federation, where he served as president of the Rio Grande Valley chapter.
